Malliouhana Poetry Prize Winner in the Junior Category/ Poetry on the Page
Savannah Croft, a fifth grade student at the Valley Primary School in Anguilla, first came across her love of writing through penning songs with her friends in the schoolyard during break time. She comes from a family of artists and follows in her mother’s footsteps with her mastery of the written word. She first won the Malliouhana Poetry Competition in 2016 with her poem “Instead” which she went on to perform at Lit Fest during the same year. Recently, Savannah placed first in the Junior Poetry on the Page category with her poem “50 Years of Greatness”. In her spare time she enjoys playing tennis and going to the beach. In the future, Savannah plans to pursue a career as an author.
