A key component of the Anguilla Lit Fest is our Champions of Literacy initiative which allows for a cross-section of students from Anguilla’s Primary Schools to interact with the visiting authors, and for students from the Secondary School to attend the presentation of the event headliner as specially invited guests. All participants are offered opportunity to be part of this initiative and for many of them the chance to ‘give back’ to the local community is one of the most rewarding aspects of the festival.
The 6th Annual Anguilla Lit Fest, May 18 – 21, 2017, will honor the commemoration of 50 years since the Anguilla Revolution, transforming, empowering and building the nation through the promotion and celebration of the Literary Arts. The annual event is organized by the Anguilla Literary Foundation and is sponsored by the Government of Anguilla, the Anguilla Tourist Board and the Business Community of Anguilla.
The program also includes a special session for children and young writers on the afternoon of Saturday, May 20th 2017.
“Anguilla Lit Fest is an important cultural event which the Government of Anguilla is pleased to support,” says Hon. Cardigan Connor, Parliamentary Secretary with Responsibility for Tourism, Sports, Youth and Culture. “We recognize and appreciate the significant role that the Literary Arts play in the development and preservation of our culture and heritage, and Lit Fest also offers visitors to Anguilla a uniquely enriching experience.”
